Vedanshi Sarda

Vedanshi Sarda, a graduate in Interior Design from CEPT University’s Faculty of Design, currently holds the positions of Teaching Associate and Researcher at CEPT.

She received the CEPT Excellence award for her 10th-semester project, which involved designing a theatre for Kathakali-based Ramlila (play). Upon graduation, Vedanshi was honoured with the University-level ‘Distinguished Student Award’. She has also published various articles related to architecture and design on the platform 'Re-thinking the Future'.

She has conducted an ethnographic research on the terracotta crafts and artisans of Gundiyali, Kutch. In this project, she extensively documented the craft process and developed insightful narratives. She has also conducted field visits for students to the Himalayan terrain of Sikkim to study vernacular Bhutia and Lepcha house architecture, along with local handicrafts and cultural practices. Her diverse experiences enrich her academic contributions and reflect her deep engagement with Indian craft traditions.

Additionally, she completed 17 years of classical dance training, earning the title ‘Nritya Jyoti’ in 2013. She is also pursuing 'Visharad Purna' (equivalent to BA) in Bharatnatyam. These diverse experiences allow her to approach design uniquely, blending artistic sensibilities with academic rigour. Her other interests lie in learning about Indian aesthetics, history - mythology, and cosmology.
